All children are taught in mixed ability classes, however it is our aim that each child’s needs will be met and therefore individual progress is carefully monitored. A variety of teaching methods are used depending on the age and ability of the children and the area of learning being covered. The methods used include whole class, group and individual teaching.

Ivy Preparatory School is currently a single form entry school with Year group classes from Nursery to Year 9.

Our Nursery accepts children in the September following their second birthday; Pre-school accepts children in the September following their third birthday; and children enter the Reception class in the September following their forth birthday.  Classes are of mixed ability and mixed gender and class sizes are restricted to a maximum of 20 children.
